In August 2022, the French Fencing Federation signed a “Top Partner” agreement<\/strong> with the D\u00e9partement, the city of Troyes and Troyes Champagne M\u00e9tropole.<\/p>\nTo put it plainly, Troyes and the Aube region now host French fencing teams<\/strong> as part of their preparation for major international events.<\/p>\nIn return, the national fencers undertake to promote their discipline by visiting local communities, schools and clubs.

Opening in July 2022 on Lac du Temple, the Mathaux nautical base<\/strong> is dedicated exclusively to rowing and canoeing<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThis is an ideal preparation camp, in the heart of the preserved environment of the Orient Forest Regional Nature Park, just outside Troyes:
– a fully-equipped base, geared towards<\/strong> both top-level competition<\/strong> and club activities;
– an ideal location, on the most favorable part of the lake, sheltered from the<\/strong> prevailing winds<\/strong> by the forest;
– a straight 2,000 m route<\/strong> – with a width of 150 m and a depth of 4 to 8 m depending on the season;
– a 630 m2 building, with its feet in the water, that blends into the environment<\/strong>: construction on stilts, direct link to the lake via a 400 m2 terrace and wooden pontoon, green roof, storage areas, changing rooms-sanitary facilities, conviviality room, pantry, etc.
– wheelchair-accessible facilities<\/strong>, including the boating area;

It’s no coincidence that the Brazilian Paralympic Committee has chosen Aube<\/strong> to prepare for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
It’s the result of years of strong commitment to parasport<\/strong> on the part of the Aube d\u00e9partement and its departmental committees (handisport and adapted sport).<\/p>\nThe Brazilian delegation, numbering around 400, includes all disciplines. The athletes will be training in Troyes<\/strong> (on the Cime-Complexe international multisport-escalade course, and at the Henri-Terr\u00e9 complex) as well as at the Mathaux nautical base – while staying, in part, at the Centre sportif de l’Aube Troyes-les-lacs.<\/p>\nBecause of its good practices, Aube has been one of 4 departments selected, from 2021, to draw up a “National Guide to Good Practices for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities through Sport”.<\/strong><\/p>\nA project supported by the French Paralympic Sports Committee and the Assembl\u00e9e des D\u00e9partements de France.<\/p>\n
Major sports facilities, particularly the most recent, systematically incorporate the “accessibility” and “parasport” dimensions into their design or renovation.
At the CIME<\/strong> (Complexe international multisport-escalade), everything has been designed to ensure accessibility and well-being for people with disabilities<\/strong>: showers, changing rooms, offices, rooms, recharging points for electric wheelchairs, grandstands, and so on.
The same goes for the Mathaux water sports center, and the Centre sportif de l’Aube Troyes-les lacs, which has 36 rooms for people with reduced mobility.<\/p>\nAll these initiatives have been hailed at the highest level, in particular by Marie-Am\u00e9lie Le Fur,<\/strong> President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (who has visited Aube on several occasions), and by Aube champion Marion Boulet<\/strong> (bronze medallist in para-rowing at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games).<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.21.2″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_text_color=”#EB593D” custom_margin=”||0px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n
