The Aube: the perfect playground
for all sports enthusiasts!

Boosted by the Paris Olympic Games, Aube hasequipped itself withtop-level facilities capable of attracting international teams. Top-level, amateur and para-sport athletes benefit from a privileged environment: indoor facilities as well as the lakes of the Parc naturel de la forêt d’Orient.
The clubs are waiting for you.

The passage of the Olympic flame: a symbol of the excellence of the Aube region, a land of preparation for the Games.

Just a stone’s throw from Paris via the Seine, Troyes and the Aube region will host the Olympic Torch Relay on July 13, 2024… opening the way directly to the capital and its Summer Games.
A message of peace and unity, the flame will also be a symbol of the region’s excellence and commitment to sport.
Awarded the “Land of Games” label in 2019, with a strong commitment to parasport, the Aube region has been able to play collectively, well ahead of the Games.

Sports bodies and local authorities have come together under a single brand: Troyes Aube 24.

As a result, several sports facilities representing 14 disciplines (*), including 5 Paralympic ones, have been awarded the title of “Training Center for the Games”. This prestigious label enables Aube to welcome foreign Olympic and Paralympic delegations for their final training sessions before the Olympic Games.

(*)Troyes (athletics, wheelchair basketball, BMX race, boccia, fencing, wheelchair fencing, rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, trampoline, triathlon and para triathlon, waterpolo, goalbal) ; Saint-Julien-les-villas (basketball and wheelchair basketball); Base nautique de Mathaux sur le lac du Temple (rowing, canoe-kayak sprint); Nogent-sur-Seine (basketball, judo, taekwondo); Romilly-sur-Seine (athletics).

“The Olympics are not an end in themselves. Rather, they are a spur to bring a little more sport into the daily lives of the people of Aubois. says Troyes Aube 24.

Troyes-les lacs: a “mini Olympic village”, packed with facilities and services.

“Imagine a BMX track, multi-sports halls, climbing walls, an Olympic-size swimming pool, fencing and gymnastics halls (a state-of-the-art 1450m2 hall), a 400 m athletics stadium, tennis courts, a sports medicine institute… all within walking distance of your accommodation and catering facilities. You’re in Troyes, Aube.

Long before the Paris Games, Aube already had modern, high-quality facilities dedicated to developing sport and welcoming groups of all levels and disciplines: the Centre Sportif de l’Aube; Les Lacs, the Henri-Terré complex in Troyes; and a host of other facilities throughout the département.

When you arrive in Aube, you’re bound to be seduced by this “Olympic village” atmosphere, which is also highly conducive to amateur practice.

This concentration of facilities and services located in Troyes, 5 minutes from the city center (on a 14-hectare campus of green spaces) finds a “natural” extension on the shores of the lakes of the Orient Forest – a preserved environment at the gateway to the city.
Maison des lacs, bases nautiques… numerous facilities await you, perfectly integrated into the heart of the Orient Forest Regional Nature Park.

Climbing, multisport and parasport: the CIME, a top-class facility!

Inaugurated in Troyes in summer 2023, the CIME (Complexe international multisport-escalade) is already a flagship facility, setting an international benchmark.
Japan’s Olympic climbing delegation – one of the best in the world – has chosen to carry out its final training sessions here before the Paris 2024 Olympics. It just goes to show!

Climbing.

Europe’s largest indoor climbing area, covering all 3 disciplines (speed, bouldering and difficulty); 1,900 m2 of climbing surface; 17,000 holds; 4 training and competition zones, nearly 200 possible routes, identical temperature on the ground and at the top;

the only venue in France to have 2 speed walls and such a large climbing surface;

a capacity of 3,000 spectators, for national and international competitions;

– medical facilities, anti-doping center, events center,

– a club, Dévers Troyes Aube, focused on both high-level climbing and climbing for all.

Multisport.

An innovative, backlit 40x20m multisport field, suitable for parasport. Some fifteen disciplines: futsal, basketball, handball, volleyball, wheelchair soccer, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, seated volleyball, boccia, goalball, etc.

Fencing: the French Federation and Aube “Top partners”.

In August 2022, the French Fencing Federation signed a “Top Partner” agreement with the Département, the city of Troyes and Troyes Champagne Métropole.

To put it plainly, Troyes and the Aube region now host French fencing teams as part of their preparation for major international events.

In return, the national fencers undertake to promote their discipline by visiting local communities, schools and clubs.
Encouraging local practice is also the aim of Troyes Aube 24!

BMX Race internationale: new equipment for pro and amateur riders.

A new high-level BMX track, suitable for all types of Bicycle motocross, opened in 2022 at the Henri-Terré complex in Troyes.

Designed in consultation with Trojan BMX clubs, the facility is capable of satisfying Olympic teams, associations and users of all levels, whether amateurs or professionals:
700 m of linear track: 380 m main track (international-level Race), 185 m pumptrack (closed loop, suitable for everyone), 62 m training line, 72 m dirt (moguls);

3 starting mounds: 1 of 8 m and 1 of 5 m on the Race; 1 of 3 m shared between the training track and the dirt track;

2 green bleachers (716 seats);
a green urban park…

Rowing and canoeing: a dedicated nautical base in the heart of the Orient Forest Nature Park.

Opening in July 2022 on Lac du Temple, the Mathaux nautical base is dedicated exclusively to rowing and canoeing.

This is an ideal preparation camp, in the heart of the preserved environment of the Orient Forest Regional Nature Park, just outside Troyes:
– a fully-equipped base, geared towards both top-level competition and club activities;
– an ideal location, on the most favorable part of the lake, sheltered from the prevailing winds by the forest;
– a straight 2,000 m route – with a width of 150 m and a depth of 4 to 8 m depending on the season;
– a 630 m2 building, with its feet in the water, that blends into the environment: construction on stilts, direct link to the lake via a 400 m2 terrace and wooden pontoon, green roof, storage areas, changing rooms-sanitary facilities, conviviality room, pantry, etc.
wheelchair-accessible facilities, including the boating area;
close proximity to the Résidence du lac d’Orient for group accommodation.

Sport and disability: a strong commitment, crowned by the visit of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee.

It’s no coincidence that the Brazilian Paralympic Committee has chosen Aube to prepare for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
It’s the result of years of strong commitment to parasport on the part of the Aube département and its departmental committees (handisport and adapted sport).

The Brazilian delegation, numbering around 400, includes all disciplines. The athletes will be training in Troyes (on the Cime-Complexe international multisport-escalade course, and at the Henri-Terré complex) as well as at the Mathaux nautical base – while staying, in part, at the Centre sportif de l’Aube Troyes-les-lacs.

Because of its good practices, Aube has been one of 4 departments selected, from 2021, to draw up a “National Guide to Good Practices for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities through Sport”.

A project supported by the French Paralympic Sports Committee and the Assemblée des Départements de France.

Major sports facilities, particularly the most recent, systematically incorporate the “accessibility” and “parasport” dimensions into their design or renovation.
At the CIME (Complexe international multisport-escalade), everything has been designed to ensure accessibility and well-being for people with disabilities: showers, changing rooms, offices, rooms, recharging points for electric wheelchairs, grandstands, and so on.
The same goes for the Mathaux water sports center, and the Centre sportif de l’Aube Troyes-les lacs, which has 36 rooms for people with reduced mobility.

All these initiatives have been hailed at the highest level, in particular by Marie-Amélie Le Fur, President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (who has visited Aube on several occasions), and by Aube champion Marion Boulet (bronze medallist in para-rowing at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games).

Born in the Aube region of France, Le Coq Sportif is dressing the Paris 2024 French team.

One hundred years after the 1924 Paris Games, Le Coq Sportif once again dresses the athletes
France at the Paris 2024 Games. The iconic sports brand, born in 1882 in Romilly-sur-Seine (Aube), has been chosen as sole equipment supplier by the Paris 2024 organizing committee. It creates and supplies all the performance outfits worn on the podiums and in the Olympic Village, as well as training and competition outfits for over 60 Olympic and Paralympic disciplines.
